2009 Show and Sale

On Wednesday April 1, Sherry Killam and Mamie Angus will open the 12th exclusive showing of fine antique furniture and accessories from the south of France.

On our buying trip last fall we took a side trip to Bruges and Antwerp where an understated approach to furnishings and objects marked and shaped by the passage of time inspired this year's show.

We brought back a lengthy baroque dining table scraped in the Flemish style, a Dutch officers' mess table with metal feet, a handsome black folk armoire from the Auvergne, two red processional lanterns, crystal chandeliers both classical and romantic, and weathered architectural fragments and garden benches.

A collection of lamps made from lichen–encrusted stone columns, worn oak balustrades, ocean–aged oyster sticks, and iron stanchions light up a white plaster torso on a scuptor's stand. Our mirrors range from tramp to gold–leafed trumeau, our accessories from traditional Van Gogh vases to the bohemian chic of industrial stools, forged–iron finials, boxloads of never–used hand–blown Armagnac bottles, and much more.

We hope you will attend our show and make your own discoveries.
